vBusiness Expo Registration Opens for April
Registration is now open for the vBusiness Expo, which launches in Second Life from April 24 to 27. This is a large scale conference featuring real companies working in virtual worlds discussing how to use the 3D internet as a tool for business.
The vBusiness Expo is being brought to you by Clever Zebra in partnership with Kelly Services. We will be holding the four-day event on four islands in the Clever Zebra region of Second Life. Zebra Crossing, our 180 seat stadium, will host speakers from a broad range of real companies actively engaged in virtual worlds. (We'll be announcing speakers in just a few days...). For companies interested in virtual worlds for collaboration, education, distance management, marketing and commerce, then the vBusiness Expo is a must attend.
We'll be focusing on four areas that real world companies use virtual worlds to gain an advantage: Workplace, Education, Marketing (through our partnership with Kzero.co.uk), and Commerce. In each case speakers will be giving practical examples of what they've done in virtual worlds, and what they’ve learned by doing it. You won't be asked to consider any unproven theories or to make decisions based on projections. Rather, you’ll be getting straight facts about how people are using virtual worlds right now to work better, learn faster, reach a target audience, and make real sales.
In addition to speakers there will also be a dedicated shopping district with hand picked vendors providing a "best of the best" experience for those buying attire suitable for business, productivity tools or the occasional useful gadget. The vendors in this shopping district will be there by invitation only, and will be a tremendous time-saver for those looking to outfit themselves for doing business in Second Life.
This is just the first vBusiness Expo. Future events, held every April and October, will continue the conversation and provide a valuable ongoing resource. This has all been made possible with support from Kelly Services, a human resources solutions company that operates in 37 countries and territories and provides employment to more than 750,000 people annually.
"Second Life and virtual worlds in general, will undoubtedly change the landscape for our industry," said David Fenech, senior director of eBusiness at Kelly Services. "Through our partnership in the vBusiness Expo, we hope to help others succeed in this virtual space as well."
